The Rock Announces His Return To ‘Fast & Furious’ Franchise Universal Studios

The Rock has announced his return to the “Fast & Furious” franchise.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson joined the “Fast & Furious” franchise in the fifth installment of the series, playing the role of Luke Hobbs.

Starring in the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth edition of the franchise, Johnson became a popular figure in the films and would later star in a spinoff movie titled, “Hobbs and Shaw.” The WWE legend had a very public falling out with “Fast & Furious” co-star Vin Diesel, which led to his departure from the franchise.

The “Fast X” film released in mid-May 2023. Universal Studios is now in the process of developing the eleventh movie in the series that will have Johnson reprising his role of Luke Hobbs.

On Thursday, June 1, The Rock took to Twitter to formally announce his return to the franchise. He wrote the following:

Hope you’ve got your funderwear on…

And he just got lei’d 🌺😈

Luke Hobbs will be returning to the Fast & Furious franchise.

Last summer Vin and I put all the past behind us. We’ll lead with brotherhood and resolve – and always take care of the franchise, characters & FANS that we love.

I’ve built my career on an “ Audience First” mentality and that will always serve as my

Congratulations to my Fast Family & Universal Studios on the global success of FAST X and as always, Hobbs &
are motivated to help take the Fast franchise to new and exciting places for fans worldwide.
