The Rock has announced his return to the “Fast & Furious” franchise.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson joined the “Fast & Furious” franchise in the fifth installment of the series, playing the role of Luke Hobbs.
Starring in the fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth edition of the franchise, Johnson became a popular figure in the films and would later star in a spinoff movie titled, “Hobbs and Shaw.” The WWE legend had a very public falling out with “Fast & Furious” co-star Vin Diesel, which led to his departure from the franchise.
The “Fast X” film released in mid-May 2023. Universal Studios is now in the process of developing the eleventh movie in the series that will have Johnson reprising his role of Luke Hobbs.
On Thursday, June 1, The Rock took to Twitter to formally announce his return to the franchise. He wrote the following:
