Huge Update On The Usos Breaking WWE Record

Huge Update On The Usos Breaking WWE Record WWE

The day has arrived – the Usos, Jimmy and Jey, now have the record for the longest reign ever as tag team champions in WWE.

As of today – November 14, 2022 – the Usos have held the SmackDown Tag Team Championship for 484 days straight.

This beats the New Day’s previous record of 483 days reigning as Raw Tag Team Champions (previously recognised as just ‘WWE Tag Team Champions’) back in 2015-2016.

In a wonderfully timed moment, the Usos’ last retention of the title actually came on SmackDown on November 11 against the New Day themselves in a match built around the idea of New Day trying to defend their record.

Of course, it was the Usos who won, and now they’ve officially broken the record today.

The Usos have held the SmackDown Tag Team Title since July 18, 2021, when they beat Dominik & Rey Mysterio at the Money in the Bank event.

They became the current ‘undisputed’ tag team champions when they defeated RK-Bro for the Raw Tag Team Championship on the May 20, 2022 episode of SmackDown.

Since then, the Usos have defended both titles together despite them still officially being recognised as separate championships.

Their next title defence is currently unknown, as their next big match looks to be a five-on-five WarGames match at Survivor Series on November 26.

The official Usos Twitter page wrote: “Officially the best team In @wwe …EVER!!!! #WeTheOnes”.
