A title has changed hands in the main event of tonight’s AEW Collision in Chicago, IL (July 31).
In a special Thursday night edition of AEW Collision, a big championship match took the main event spot as Dustin Rhodes defended his TNT Championship against Kyle Fletcher.
In what was his second title defense after capturing the vacated belt at All In Texas, Rhodes, much like on July 12, entered the match as a relative underdog, with many fans fancying Fletcher to take him his first singles title in AEW.
After what was a brutal contest that featured tables, steel chairs, steps and thumbtacks, it was indeed “The Protostar” who took home the gold, using Don Callis’ trusty screwdriver on both the head and injured knee of Dustin, before delivering a Brainbuster for the three count.
The win ends Dustin’s first run as AEW TNT Champion at just 19 days, and gives Fletcher his first taste of gold since holding the ROH Television Championship between December 2023 and June 2024.
Elsewhere on AEW Collision two big title matches were made official for Forbidden Door 2025 – click here for full details.
