The challenger for ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm at the upcoming pay-per-view AEW Worlds End has been revealed on tonight’s AEW Dynamite.
On tonight’s AEW Dynamite (December 20) there was a number one contender’s match to determine who would face ‘Timeless’ Toni Storm at AEW Worlds End for the AEW Women’s World Championship.
The match saw Saraya face off against Riho to determine who would eventually go against Toni Storm at the pay-per-view.
In the end, Riho won and Saraya’s supposed pal Ruby Soho was shown on camera backstage, smiling at the losing effort.
After the match, Toni Storm left her station on commentary and went into the ring to get a closer look at Riho.
Literally! Storm took out what appeared to be vintage opera glasses to take a look at Riho before the pair had a short physical exchange.
It was a surprise run-in from Mariah May, toting Storm’s AEW title belt with her and smashing Riho with it that ended the fracas.
Storm for her part appeared nonplussed at the pouncing protege’s appearance albeit turning to seeming mildly impressed by the end of the segment.
Elsewhere in AEW women’s division news, Thunder Rosa is set for an in-ring return after having relinquished the AEW Women’s World title, out of competition since August 2022.
She will team up with Abadon to face the newly revealed alliance of current TBS Champion Julia Hart and Skye Blue on this week’s Collision (December 23).
There was also a sign in the crowd that read ‘Where’s Britt’, seemingly in reference to Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. who remains absent from television.
Baker’s last match was over three months ago on September 16 on Collision against Kris Statlander where she was unsuccessful in her bid for the TBS Championship.
Elsewhere on tonight’s AEW Dynamite, AEW has confirmed that a top star is out of action ‘indefinitely’.
