Tony Khan Interested In Free Agent Rumored To Join AEW Or WWE AEW

AEW President Tony Khan has commented on the status of Japanese star Katsuhiko Nakajima, amid speculation about Nakajima’s next move.

Nakajima is currently wrestling for Pro Wrestling NOAH without a contract, and has announced that he will be leaving the promotion following his final appearance on October 28.

Because of this, there has been a lot of rumors about Nakajima’s next move, with Dave Meltzer recently reporting that NJPW, WWE and AEW are all companies ‘very high in the speculation‘.

Tony Khan addressed the possibility of Nakajima working with AEW during the post-WrestleDream media scrum, noting that he believes there is mutual interest between the two parties.

Confirming that he is definitely interested in bringing Nakajima in, Khan said:

“I am interested and I heard he’s interested too, that could be good. Nakajima is very talented, I think that would be great. He’d be a great fit here.

“I’ve heard he’s interested in coming and we’d be interested in having him. Something to consider.”

Nakajima made his pro-wrestling debut in September 2003 in World Japan with an NJPW debut happening in May 2004.

He joined NOAH in July 2005 and is a former two-time GHC Champion, three-time GHC Junior Heavyweight Champion and has held the GHC Tag Team Championship on six occasions.

For those unfamiliar with Nakajima’s work, highlights from FORBIDDEN REUNION: Katsuhiko Nakajima (NOAH) vs. Kento Miyahara (AJPW) at One Night Dream can be seen below.
