Tony Khan Says New Signing Has ‘Taken AEW To Another Level’ AEW

AEW owner and co-founder Tony Khan has said that new AEW signing Renee Paquette has taken the company to “another level”.

Paquette made her AEW debut on the October 12 edition of AEW Dynamite, interviewing Christian Cage ahead of Luchasaurus’ match with Jungle Boy Jack Perry.

She has since appeared as a mainstay of the show, appearing in backstage segments interviewing AEW wrestlers, and notably MJF last week live on the stage in front of the crowd.

Now Khan has opened up about Paquette’s role in the company, discussing what her signing has done for AEW.

Speaking to Tommy Dreamer on Busted Open Radio, Dreamer said that Paquette has made a difference for AEW because the show flows better and things are allowed to breathe, to which Khan replied:

“I totally agree. I do think that’s the case. Since she came in Toronto about 3 weeks ago, I think it’s been outstanding. I totally agree with you that these last 3 weeks that Renee has really helped take the show to another level.

“We’ve seen a lot of great segments, both live interviews, and interviews backstage. Tonight in particular I’m really excited for a sit-down interview with Dr. Britt Baker, DMD, and Saraya and they are both gonna talk to Renee…”

Khan also talked about the card for this evening’s (November 2) edition of AEW Dynamite, which currently looks as follows:

  • Chris Jericho vs a former ROH Champion (ROH World Title Match)
  • Orange Cassidy vs Luchasaurus vs. Rey Fenix (All-Atlantic Title Match)
  • Samoa Joe vs Brian Cage (ROH World TV Title Match)
  • Jade Cargill vs Marina Shafir (TBS Title Match)
  • Jon Moxley vs Lee Moriarty (AEW World Championship Eliminator Match)
  • Renee Paquette sit-down interview with Saraya and Dr. Britt Baker, DMD
  • Darby Allin vs Jay Lethal
  • Daddy Ass Birthday Bash

AEW’s next pay-per-view event, Full Gear, is set for Saturday, November 19, 2022.
