A top AEW star has thrown shade on Wardlow.
In the fall of 2019, Wardlow made his debut in All Elite Wrestling and quickly aligned with Maxwell Jacob Friedman as his hired bodyguard.
Despite constant disrespect from Friedman, the AEW star remained in his partnership with MJF until Revolution 2022 when Wardlow betrayed his boss to help CM Punk beat him in a Dog Collar Match.
The two men went on to go one-on-one at Double Or Nothing 2022 where Wardlow destroyed Friedman, but the win was overshadowed by MJF’s drama with his contract and pay. The current TNT Champion has since said that there was “so much that ruined” his moment.
Appearing on Rasslin’, Maxwell Jacob Friedman commented on Wardlow following their feud and his thoughts.
When shown a Pinnacle shirt, he said:
“You can throw that in the bin. F*** Wardlow, I can tell you that much. Oh, Wardlow, here’s the world’s smallest violin for me getting you insanely over. [Plays finger violin]. Your life is so hard. Ohhh.”
MJF returned to AEW and won the Casino Ladder Match as the Joker entrant at the All Out pay-per-view with the help of Stokely Hathaway and The Firm. After the main event, Friedman confronted then-AEW World Champion CM Punk.
In his absence, Wardlow defeated Scorpio Sky to win the TNT Championship on the July 6 edition of AEW Dynamite.
