Last night, AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling came together to co-host the second annual Forbidden Door pay-per-view event in Toronto.
The show featured many cross-promotional dream matches between AEW and NJPW stars, including the main event clash between Bryan Danielson and Kazuchika Okada.
Fans are still in awe over the IWGP United States Championship match, with Will Ospreay defeating Kenny Omega to regain the title he lost to Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 17 in January.
After the show, Ospreay appeared on the Forbidden Door media scrum, where he spoke about another cross-promotional dream match he hopes to have.
Ospreay shouted out an idol of his, Pro Wrestling NOAH star Naomichi Marufuji, who celebrates his 25th anniversary in September, before saying that the ball is in NOAH’s court for a potential match between the two.
Ospreay has heaped praise on Kenny Omega after their incredible clash on last night’s show, which you can read about here.
Ospreay also said that he believes he will start winding down his time on the independents.
.@WillOspreay: "I've taken so much from a man that I completely respect and in September he is celebrating his 25th anniversary. I would love to be in the ring with @noah_marufuji_. The ball is in @noah_ghc's court. I think we can work something out."#AEWForbiddenDoor #noah_ghc pic.twitter.com/oG2fzh55MC
