Top WWE Star Against Adding New Member To Faction WWE

Since the 2023 WWE Draft, Intercontinental Champion Gunther and Imperium have been presented as some of the top heels on the Raw roster.

Imperium have main evented many weeks of Raw, including this past week with Gunther and Ludwig Kaiser challenging Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship.

In recent weeks, there has been speculation about a potential new member being added to the group, namely NXT’s Ilja Dragunov who has been rumoured for a main roster call up soon.

However, speaking with Steve Fall on Ten Count, Gunther was very much opposed to adding a new member, believing the group to be ‘perfect’ as it is.

He said:

“No, I think it’s perfect how it is. I’m a big believer in ‘never change a running system.’ I think too much in and out can water a group down a little bit. We’re all together for a reason, nothing’s random. We are all tightly connected in our private lives too, especially with Kaiser. Our careers went the same way since we started. There’s a history of that group a long time before WWE, so it’s something that was just authentically there. As of right now, I feel like it’s good how it is.”

Gunther recently passed one year as the Intercontinental Champion, with him potentially set to break the Honky Tonk Man’s record as the longest reigning champion in September.
