Trick Williams has revealed that Grammy-nominated artist Lil Yachty is planning to compete in WWE in the future.
The Georgia born rapper has become a fixture of WWE TV since aligning with Trick Williams in the build to the SmackDown star’s United States Title match with Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 42, and as he confirmed on last week’s SmackDown after WrestleMania 42 (April 24), he’s planning to stick around on TV for the foreseeable future.
During his appearance on What’s Your Story? With Steph McMahon, Trick Williams put over Yachty’s love for the wrestling business, sharing details of 2am phone calls between the two and Lil Boat’s plan to get into shape and wrestle inside a WWE ring.
Williams said:
“This what he told me, he says, ‘Trick, I can’t believe they’re letting me do WrestleMania with you. I don’t want to take no shortcuts, I don’t want to go straight to the top. I want to go to Delaware, I want to go to Baton Rouge, I want to be one of the boys. I love this business, I’ve been watching this for years.’
“He wants to be one of the boys. Like we talk sometimes 2 o’clock in the morning. Lash has had enough, she has had enough (laughs).
“That’s my boy man, and it’s crazy because we both have a desire for excellence. We want it to be good. We want everything that we do to feel like magic. The same feeling that we felt when y’all was doing your thing during the Attitude Era. Everything has to feel real to the people.
“And he loves it and he says he wants to have a match. Yachty says he wants to have a match, he’s gonna get in shape and we gonna do this.”

Lil Yachty Proving To Be Another WWE Celebrity Crossover Success Story
While many fans rightfully have a sour opinion regarding celebrity involvement in WWE following the Pat McAfee and Randy Orton alliance debacle heading into WrestleMania 42, there have been more examples of positive celebrity involvement than negative in recent years.
Long gone is the “special celebrity guest host of Raw” era which consistently exposed many of the guests in question to have very little knowledge of WWE, or how pro wrestling works.
While there’s still been some duds (Travis Scott), the likes of Bad Bunny, Logan Paul and IShowSpeed have been undoubted success stories, and Lil Yachty is the latest example we can throw into that same column.
His fandom for WWE was already evident before he became an on-screen character, but since joining up with Trick Williams he has proven to be a natural fit.
Whether it be his back-and-forth chemistry with Trick or his selling when taking offense, Yachty is looking to be in his element and his declaration that he’s sticking around on WWE TV will earn him a lot of respect from the fan base.
