On tonight’s WWE SmackDown, Triple H brought back a WWE star’s former ring name as BUTCH returned to being Pete Dunne.
It happened, it finally happened! Triple H has come through with the return of a beloved NXT character.
After speculation about the potential change since shakeups began with WWE creative control, a long championed name change happened on tonight’s SmackDown.
There was a previous backstage segment from last week where Tyler Bate encouraged Butch to do soul seeking regarding his movement in the world, it seems that the Bruiserweight has remembered who he is.
Making his ring entrance tonight on SmackDown as Pete Dunne, it seems that Butch is finally gone!
Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate picked up the win over Pretty Deadly on SmackDown tonight.
The Brawling Brutes have effectively been disbanded, with Butch returning to his Pete Dunne character, Ridge Holland attempting a revitalization on NXT.
Sheamus has been off of WWE television since his singles match with Edge in August due to a shoulder injury.
We will have to see if Sheamus makes his return to action at the upcoming premium live event, WWE Royal Rumble on January 27, 2024.
