Two Championship Matches Added To WWE Payback 2023

On tonight’s edition of WWE Raw (August 21) there were two new Championship matches added to the card for WWE Payback 2023.

After having a match against Candice LeRae, Rhea Ripley was celebrating with Dominik Mysterio on the entrance ramp when Raquel Rodriguez appeared, still carrying a crutch.

With Ripley and Mysterio mocking her initially, she then threw the crutch at Ripley before kicking off a brawl!

In the end, Raquel Rodriguez got on the mic and informed the excited Quebec City fans and Ripley that she was today cleared for competition.

Not only that but she had already spoken to Adam Pearce and she has gotten a match made official for WWE Payback.

At WWE Payback it will be Raquel Rodriguez taking on Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s World Championship on Saturday, September 2, 2023.

In an earlier segment on WWE Raw, Shinsuke Nakamura vowed to take Seth Rollins’ championship from him at Payback and their match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship was then made official.

Those matches join a steel cage match between Becky Lynch vs Trish Stratus at Payback, which was first advertised on Main Event last week, and confirmed on Raw tonight.

Elsewhere on tonight’s WWE Raw, Cody Rhodes greeted fans in Quebec and Chad Gable delivered GUNTHER his first loss of on the main roster, however the Intercontinental Championship did not change hands.
