Two WWE Championships Officially Unified

Two WWE championships have now officially been unified at tonight’s NXT Heatwave premium live evemt in Edinburg, Texas.

On a night of five title bouts, the opener was the three-way match between NXT Women’s North American Champion Zaria, Women’s Speed Champion Wren Sinclair, and Kali Armstrong.

As promoted a couple of weeks ago, this match would play host to the unification of both of those championships.

It was originally set to be a one on one match between Zaria and Sinclair, but due to Armstrong defeating Zaria in a match this past Tuesday, she was added to the unification match to make it a three-way.

The match tonight was won by Zaria, meaning she retains the North American Title and wins the Speed Women’s Title, unifying them together in the process.

The Speed Title does hold some significance to Zaria, as it was Sol Ruca’s reign with that title that drove their tag team to an explosive break up.

Likely The End Of The Men’s WWE Speed Championship

With the Women’s Speed Championship now unified with the NXT Women’s North American Title, it seems likely the men’s Speed Title isn’t long for this world either.

The most likely scenario with this unification is that HIUMAN BEING WHO WON THE TITLE will just proceed sas the North American Title and the Women’s Speed Title will be disposed of.

That means men’s champion Lexis King may not have his title for longer and may well face the same fate.

The Speed Titles only ended up in NXT because the original Speed show on X was canceled, and they’ve never really made too much sense in the NXT environment.

It means there’s too many belts, and the gimmick of short & fast matches is a bit redundant because that’s pretty much the style of NXT TV matches anyway.
