AEW star Abadon made their return to AEW television this week just in time for Halloween.
Abadon took part in a four-way match on this week’s Rampage show, where they defeated Skye Blue, Willow Nightingale and Anna Jay to earn a shot at the AEW Women’s World Championship.
On last night’s Collision show, Shida defeated Abadon to retain the Women’s World Championship in a Fright Night Fight.
This pair of matches were Abadon’s first on AEW television in two years, last competing against Britt Baker on Halloween in 2021, leading many to believe that Abadon would again not be seen until next Halloween.
Per Fightful Select (subscription required), while the return to AEW on Halloween was a thematic occurrence, that wasn’t the only reason they were off television for a long time.
Fightful was told that Abadon had been sidelined with an injury, and was only cleared for an AEW return this past Wednesday ahead of Dynamite.
Prior to this week, Abadon’s last AEW match came back in June in a Dark match.
Abadon had returned to the ring for Wrestling REVOLVER the week prior to their AEW television return, but they still needed to get clearance for an AEW return.
