Update On Creative Role For Triple H Re-Hire

Update On Creative Role For Triple H Re-Hire WWE

An update has emerged on Gabe Sapolsky’s role with WWE after rejoining the company in September.

The prominent booker was released by WWE in January, along with other members of Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque’s team such as Road Dogg and Ryan Katz.

While it was previously reported that Sapolsky would be returning to the WWE creative team, it was unclear exactly what his role would involve.

Per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Gabe Sapolsky ‘is now in charge of extras on TV for Raw & SmackDown.’

A number of stars who previously worked as WWE extras have went on to have prominent careers including, Becky Lynch and Elias both previously served as ‘Rosebuds’ for Adam Rose.

And it’s not just WWE talent, as Max Caster of AEW’s The Acclaimed previously featured as one of Bobby Lashley’s sisters in a bizarre spot with Sami Zayn.

AEW’s Powerhouse Hobbs once appeared as a member of Jon Moxley’s SWAT team, though you would be forgiven for missing it as he was wearing a gas mask.

Gabe Sapolsky is no stranger to nurturing up-and-coming talent and is a strong fit for overseeing WWE extras.

Starting out at ECW, worked his way up to become Paul Heyman’s assistant, taking on varied duties from marketing and promoting to ringside filming.

He later worked as a booker for Ring of Honor before founding Dragon Gate USA and EVOLVE.

Sapolsky developed a close working relationship with Triple H, which resulted in EVOLVE doing a special live event for the WWE Network in July 2019. Sapolsky continued to work closely with Triple H at NXT in a role that saw him scout and develop talent. After WWE purchased EVOLVE in 2020, Gabe Sapolsky worked on the NXT creative team until his release in January 2022.

Since the Triple H regime change, Gabe Sapolsky is just one of the names that have been rehired by WWE following their release, with the likes of Road Dogg and Ryan Katz also returning.
