There has been quite a bit of talk about Aleister Black and WWE today. It was reported earlier that there were plans to keep him off TV to redebut him at some point. However, that simply hasn’t happened.
Now, Fightful Select (subscription required) has reported another update on his WWE status. According to the report, Black has not been seen backstage at all since his wife Zelina Vega was released.
The report also mentions that it has not been confirmed whether or not there are outstanding issues between Black and WWE. However, one source told them that they believe WWE is letting any bad feelings between the two sides subside. Black has not wrestled since he was beaten by Kevin Owens on the October 12, 2020, episode of Raw.
Aleister Black has been a strange case on the main roster even before his latest absence. He has never received much of a sustained push since his main roster debut in 2019 with long periods of not being on TV being a regularity for him.
As WWE prepares to start gearing up for the Road to WrestleMania, we will have to wait and see whether or not Black is reintroduced in time to take part in WWE’s biggest show of the year.
