Update On When Brian Cage AEW Contract Expires

Update On When Brian Cage AEW Contract Expires AEW

A new report has revealed an update on when Brian Cage’s AEW contract expires.

Last month, Fightful Select reported that Brian Cage’s deal with All Elite Wrestling was set to expire in the coming weeks.

Fightful Select (subscription required) has provided an update, noting that AEW had hoped to extend Cage’s deal due to injury time that would keep him with the company until at least the end of June.

However, Brian Cage pushed back on that and was interested in exploring free agency. This is apparently for good reason as WWE has maintained interest in Cage in the event he becomes a free agent.

The report notes that WWE are open to having conversations with the current ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champion.

The company won’t have to wait too long because AEW and Brian Cage have agreed to work together through the end of March, specifically the ROH Supercard of Honor pay-per-view on March 31.

The report also notes that some of the time that was supposed to be added to Cage’s deal is actually because he was signed while injured after leaving IMPACT Wrestling in 2020.

Those familiar with the situation also noted that AEW offered Cage a contract extension comparable to his current deal, which hasn’t been ruled out yet.

Fightful noted that Cage has some “heavy hitters” within All Elite Wrestling in his corner as of late.

As previously reported, Chris Jericho specifically spoke in an interview, saying he hopes that Cage re-signs with AEW and put over his work.

We will have further updates and news on Brian Cage’s AEW status when they become available.
