Update On How & Why WWE Has Announced Premium Live Events In 2023 WWE

A new report has provided an update on how and why WWE has announced premium live events in 2023.

In years past, WWE has announced their major shows well in advance. However, this year has seen a change in that regard.

The company recently just announced the dates for Payback in September and Fastlane in October.

Fightful Select (subscription required) provided an update, noting that WWE’s desire is to maximize buzz around PLE shows.

Up until the announcement of Payback and Fastlane, the scheduled events have fit into particular categories, such as stadium shows, international events, or directly correlating with a major story.

WWE sources told Fightful that the company wants to be as strategic as possible with PLE events, locations and announcements for them.

Many factors come into play and are weighed when making these decisions, such as economics, storyline, audience growth. By announcing these shows individually, the promotion want to allow each one to have its own moment.

WrestleTalk will provide its readers with further updates in regards to WWE PLEs and their announcements when they become available.
