A rising NXT star has shared her first comments after seemingly earning the respect of Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley on this week’s NXT (July 25).
After challenging Ripley a night earlier at Raw to a match on NXT, Lyra Valkyria stepped up to the plate for the biggest match of her career against the Judgment Day’s Eradicator.
Despite falling short, she seemingly earned Ripley’s respect after the bell, with the world champion even later reiterating this with a Twitter post when the show was over.
Now, in a post-match interview posted on WWE’s own social media platforms, Valkyria has reacted to the match and respect shown to her by the biggest star in the WWE women’s division.
Valkyria said she has never felt more alive than after facing off with Ripley, despite the defeat, while later revealing that Ripley’s acknowledgement of her efforts meant “everything” to her.
Despite that, the Irish star said she realises this was not done to show that she has now “made it”, but rather this is to push her for more success in the future, something Ripley also mentioned on Twitter.
Following her defeat to Ripley, Valkyria will likely look to bounce back by putting her feud with Jacy Jayne to bed, who she most recently defeated on the June 26 NXT.
