The Von Erich family will not be involved in the upcoming biopic on the legendary family that will star actor Zac Efron.

Deadline reported that actor Zac Efron will star in the upcoming Von Erichs biopic, titled “The Iron Claw”.

The film is a drama that will be written and directed by Sean Durkin. It will cover the tragedy of the legendary family that saw five of the six children of Fritz Von Erich pass away for various reasons.

Deadline wrote the following:

“Based on the true story of the Von Erichs, the film follows the rise and fall of the Von Erich family, a dynasty of wrestlers who made a huge impact on the sport from the 1960s to the present day.”

In a followup, SEScoops reported that the Von Erich family will not be working or consulting on the film.

The family is still represented in the business today in MLW with Ross and Marshall Von Erich, who are former tag team champions for the promotion.
