With Seven Bucks Productions working on a Ric Flair biopic, both The Rock and The Nature Boy have reacted to the announcement.
Dwayne Johnson revealed the news of the upcoming biopic on Twitter, stating that had ‘idolized ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair’.
Ric Flair has since reacted to the announcement of the new project, posting to Twitter:
“Thank You @TheRock For This Incredible Opportunity. Your Friendship Means The World To Me!
“This Is Truly The Dream Of A Lifetime! WOOOOO! @SevenBucksProd”
The project is currently in development with Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia serving as producers alongside Kevin Misher of Misher Films.
As The Wrap notes, Misher and Seven Bucks Productions previously worked on “Fighting with My Family”, the movie centred on the life of Saraya (formerly Paige in WWE).
The Rock would reply to Flair’s “thank you” message with one of his own on Twitter, stating:
“You’re welcome brother and our friendship means the world to me as well.
“Remember, this is all possible not because of anything I’m doing – it’s all possible because of everything YOU accomplished in our business of pro wrestling.
“Honored to bring your unbelievable life to the big screen. Let’s get to work. WOO!”
The report for The Wrap notes Flair’s impact on the wrestling business, stating:
“One of the most celebrated professional wrestlers of all time, with a career spanning more than 50 years and virtually every major wrestling federation around the world, Flair is a 16-time world champion and the first wrestler to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame twice.”
Ric Flair has signed a multi-year contract with AEW and will be in Sting’s corner for his retirement match at Revolution on March 3, 2024.
