Will Ospreay Comments Following AEW World Championship Victory

Will Ospreay has commented following his AEW World Championship victory at last night’s All In London event.

AEW held it’s biggest show of the year last night, when All In London took place at Wembley Stadium for the third time in history.

The main event saw Owen Hart Foundation Tournament winner Will Ospreay attempt to become AEW World Champion on his home soil, when he faced off against Kenny Omega in the show’s main event.

Will Ospreay Comments On AEW World Title Win

After an epic encounter, Ospreay would defeat Omega with the Hidden Blade after kicking out of Omega’s One Winged Angel, capturing the AEW World Championship for the first time in his career.

Taking to social media, Ospreay commented on his title win, sharing a photo of himself holding the title alongside the caption:

Ospreay’s first challenger for the title was seemingly determined earlier in the night, when Andrade El Idolo would win the Casino Gauntlet match to earn a future title shot.

Will A Heel Ever Win The All In Main Event?

With Ospreay’s victory, this year marks the fourth AEW All In event, and also the fourth straight All In event that ended with a big babyface celebration.

After MJF, Bryan Danielson, ‘Hangman’ Adam Page and now Will Ospreay, we must wait to see when Tony Khan will decide to end All In with a heel victory.

It took WrestleMania 16 years to have a heel stand tall to close the show, with Triple H’s victory at WrestleMania 2000 being the first time in the show’s history it ever happened, though a number of WrestleManias have since closed with the heel on top.

In terms of who could be the first heel to do so, if it is to happen in the next few years, the most obvious choice for the spot would be MJF, which would also make him the first person to main event All In twice.

However, another potential name is Kyle Fletcher, who will almost certainly compete in an All In main event in the future, potentially even against Will Ospreay next year if he holds the title until then.
