William Regal has now shared a goodbye message for his Blackpool Combat Club faction ahead of his AEW departure.
After Regal turned on Blackpool Combat Club member Jon Moxley at the November 19 Full Gear pay-per-view, it was speculated that Regal was on his way out of AEW.
Following recent reports and AEW segments which also seemed to indicate this, Tony Khan confirmed Regal’s departure during the December 7 pre-ROH Final Battle call, noting that the wrestling veteran wanted to return to WWE to work alongside his son, Charlie Dempsey.
Regal has now taken to Twitter to bid farewell to Moxley, Bryan Danielson, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta.
Sharing a link to a lyric video for Slade – Far Far Away, Regal wrote:
To the members of the BCC. My favourite song by my favourite band who somehow knew when I was a child to write the story that is my life. It’s been a pleasure fellas. We’ll meet again…
Regal was released from his WWE contract by the previous WWE regime in January, after over two decades with the company.
He made his AEW debut in March at the Revolution pay-per-view, forcing Moxley and Danielson to shake hands and forming the Blackpool Combat Club.
Regal made what appears to be his last AEW appearance on the December 7 edition of Dynamite, which you can read about right here.
