William Regal Reveals Interesting Vince McMahon Request When WWE Went HD

AEW star William Regal has revealed an interesting request that Vince McMahon made when WWE went HD.

Regal is known for his hilarious facial expressions to different things that has made him one of the funniest wrestlers ever.

Speaking on the Gentleman Villain Podcast, the former WWE star revealed what Vince McMahon asked of him when the company transitioned to high definition.

He said:

“Mr. McMahon pulled me to the side and he said ‘Darren (Regal’s real first name), can I talk to you? I want you to be the one, the first one who changes everything as far as facial wise. This HD TV picks up everything in a completely different world than we’re used to. You’re always the one known for pulling faces and big expressions. I want you to take it the other way which is you do it as little as possible and the little nostril flares and glances.’

“He might have asked a couple of people but he asked me, early on in that day of the first taping, ‘I want you to do that. Tonight go the exact opposite of what you have ever done before.’

William Regal spent 20 years with WWE working in several different positions including a lengthy run as NXT general manager before his release earlier this year.

Regal has since signed with All Elite Wrestling where he is currently managing the Blackpool Combat Club of Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson and Wheeler Yuta.

Blackpool Combat Club member Jon Moxley will face Hiroshi Tanahashi to determine the Interim AEW World Champion at Forbidden Door on June 26.
