Championship Match Announced After Plans Changed For WWE Raw April 10 WWE

A championship match has been announced for next week’s (April 10) edition of Raw, following numerous plans changing.

On Monday’s (April 3) episode, Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez defeated Dakota Kai & IYO SKY of Damage CTRL to earn a shot at the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

Morgan & Rodriguez will now face Becky Lynch & Lita for the title on next Monday’s show.

It has been noted that numerous plans for the April 3 edition of Raw were changed, with this match reportedly added to the line-up after other matches were nixed.

Per Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, matches to determine a #1 contender for the Raw Women’s Championship were scrapped and replaced with the tag-team championship #1 contender’s bout.

Sapp wrote:

Originally tonight was supposed to feature a couple of triple threat matches that would serve as a tournament for a Raw Women’s Title shot. They were scrapped very late in favor of the tag title contender match

According to the rundown on Fightful Select ahead of the show, the two three-ways were set to be Liv Morgan vs Dakota Kai vs Piper Niven, and Candice LeRae vs Raquel Rodriguez vs IYO SKY.

Bianca Belair is the current Raw Women’s Champion, most recently defending her gold against Asuka at WrestleMania 39.

Another change worth noting is that Bayley was originally scheduled to accompany Kai and SKY for the tag match, but she was pulled.

During Rodriguez and Morgan’s entrance, Rodriguez had a face-off with SmackDown Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley, so that looks to potentially be a future direction.

That came after an in-ring promo with both champions – Ripley and Belair.
