A world champion who beat a potential new WWE signing that could be heading to the company soon has vacated her title.
In April 2023, Tam Nakano defeated Giulia for the World of Stardom Championship in the main event of STARDOM All Star Grand Queendom.
Nakano was set to defend the title against the 2023 5 Star Grand Prix winner Suzu Suzuki at this past Sunday, November 19’s STARDOM Gold Rush event. However, a knee injury caused Nakano to be removed from the show and the title match to be postponed.
During the November 20 press conference for STARDOM’s Nagoya Big Winter event on December 2, the company announced that Tam Nakano has vacated the World of Stardom Championship due to her injury.
This wasn’t even the only title vacated during the presser as STARDOM announced due to injuries to Natsupoi that she and Saori Anou were vacating the Goddesses of Stardom Championship.
In a tweet on the press conference, the promotion wrote the following:
“Stardom Executive Producer Rossy Ogawa announces that due to the injuries of Tam Nakano and Natsupoi, they are not expected to be back for quite some time, so the World of Stardom title and the Goddesses of Stardom tag team titles have been returned,”
With the World of Stardom Title vacated, a new champion will be crowned on Friday, December 29 at STARDOM Dream Queendom 2023.
On December 2 at Nagoya Big Winter event, Suzu Suzuki will defend her guaranteed title shot against Hazuki with the winner moving on to challenge for the vacant title at Dream Queendom.
Meanwhile, the other challenger will be determined in a four-person one-night tournament on Tuesday, November 28.
The tournament will see Mina Shirakawa vs. Momo Watanabe and MAIKA vs. Ami Sohrei in two semifinal matches with the winners facing off later in the show.
The Goddesses of Stardom Titles will be determined between Tag League winners MAIKA and Megan Bayne against a team to be announced at Nagoya Big Winter event on December 2.
