The theme song for WWE WrestleMania 40 has been officially announced, with the announcement setting a record in the process.
With the Royal Rumble set to take place tonight, we are officially on the Road to WrestleMania once again, and every good Road to WrestleMania needs it’s theme song.
Taking to Twitter today, WWE officially revealed the theme song for this year’s event, that being the song ‘Gasoline’ by The Weeknd.
This song being named the theme song has actually set a record for WWE and The Weeknd, as he becomes the only artist to have five official theme songs in five years.
The first use of The Weeknd at WrestleMania was at WrestleMania 36 in 2020, when Blinding Lights was used as the event’s theme song.
WWE then used ‘Save Your Tears’ as the theme song for WrestleMania 37, ‘Sacrifice’ for WrestleMania 38 and most recently ‘Less Than Zero’ for last year’s event.
The Weeknd’s ‘Take My Breath’ also served as a theme song for a premium live event, being used as the theme song to WWE Crown Jewel in 2021.
With #WrestleMania season right around the corner, @TheWeeknd becomes the only artist in WWE history to have 5 Official Theme Songs 5 years in a row. “Gasoline” from the album Dawn FM is an Official Theme Song of #WrestleMania XL! pic.twitter.com/pgdulRmvZX
