Triple H Shares Honest Thoughts On WWE Star Criticizing WrestleMania 40 Booking WWE

WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H has shared his honest thoughts on Logan Paul previously criticising the main-event booking for WrestleMania 40.

After numerous teases, The Rock showed up on the February 2 edition of SmackDown to confront Roman Reigns.

Plans ultimately changed following major fan backlash, with a #WeWantCody movement arising to push Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes back into the WrestleMania 40 main event picture.

WWE US Champion Logan Paul notably joined the cause, sharing the #WeWantCody hashtag across several social media platforms.

Triple H commented on Logan Paul criticising The Rock vs Roman Reigns during his appearance on Paul’s ImPaulsive podcast.

Explaining why he was okay with Paul encouraging WWE fans to voice their opinions, Triple H said:

“Look, especially on that kind of stuff when you’re looking at it, I saw it for sure. Man, I love that banter and that debate about it. It’s what makes this so cool, right? In a lot of this there’s not right and wrong, Pat Patterson used to say ‘it’s chocolate and vanilla, it’s all good, it’s all ice cream, it’s just what flavor you want. I can give you five different flavors but they’re all good.’

“You almost kind of can’t make a bad decision. I did think it was cool when your telling a story that you’re really invested in, obviously we’re writing these stories and at some point in time you begin to think ‘here’s where we’re going, it’s going to be great’. Then something happens and we have to pivot and you’re like ‘man, I really thought where we were going was good.’

“There’s sort of a bit of a validation in there with fans being like ‘no, you can’t deviate from this, I bought into this story, I’m in this now, you can’t take a left turn all of a sudden, I’m not going to let you.’ For them to be that passionate about it…

“… To me, when people are thinking ‘man, they screwed up’, I’m thinking ‘no they didn’t screw up, people are that passionate about their show, there’s no screwing up there.

“When you see stuff like this, especially when it’s a storyline thing that shifted, it’s not screwing up, it’s letting you know that the story you were doing was working massively and (we had to) figure out how to capitalise on that.”
