A New Revenue Stream For WWE
There’s little doubt that Club WWE represents a new potential revenue stream for the TKO-owned company, particularly with its “members-only WWE shop” and earlier access to event tickets.
With the loss of the WWE Network as a subscription model, it’s something of a surprise that the company has taken so long in exploring other membership-based opportunities, and it will be interesting to see how the fans react to this.
Over recent months, fans have been critical of the cost of attending events such as WrestleMania 42, with CM Punk even calling out TKO CEO Ari Emanuel to “lower the ticket prices“.
While reports have surfaced suggesting that WWE and TKO are exploring options to do what Punk and others have suggested, introducing another revenue stream while thoughts of high ticket prices are still fresh in the mind of the very people who might sign up to this new offering is, arguably, a bold move.
Perhaps the proposition of exclusive merch and never-before-seen content, among other offerings, will be enough to drive ample interest, although a globally felt cost-of-living crisis could dampen reception.
