Top WWE Star Recalls John Cena Reaching Out After Major Title Loss WWE

Bianca Belair has revealed that John Cena reached out to her following her SummerSlam 2021 SmackDown Women’s Title loss.

At the August 2021 event, Belair put her SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line against a returning Becky Lynch in an impromptu match.

After a cheap shot and a Manhandle Slam, Lynch pinned Belair after just 26 seconds to end the EST’s first championship reign.

Speaking with Ryan Satin on Out of Character, Belair recalled John Cena pulling her aside to talk with her following the title loss.

Opening up about the moment, Belair said:

“Sometimes when you think it can be the worst thing that’s happening, and then it flourishes into this beautiful year long storyline, and it all comes full circle, and that’s what it did for me.

“But in the moment, it can be tough. That 26 second moment was tough for me. I remember going to my husband. We always allow each other to vent.

“Then we’re like,’ Okay, I’m validating your feelings, but how do we get out of this? Like, we can’t stay here in this mindset. Let’s look at the bigger picture.’

“Then John Cena was there. He pulled me aside and he talked to me. He really helped me with my perspective of that, and it’s going to carry with me for the rest of my career.”

Belair is currently the Raw Women’s Champion, notably defeating Lynch for that gold at WrestleMania 38 in April 2022.

The EST’s title challenger for WrestleMania 39 will be determined at Elimination Chamber this weekend.
