WWE star Carmella, who is currently pregnant with her first child, has provided an update on her plans to return to the company post-birth.
Carmella, who has been out of in-ring action since March, told PEOPLE.com:
“I for sure plan to come back. I think it’s important to show you can have a baby and still have a career, especially a very physical one at that, but I’m not going to rush.
“I really just want to take my time recovering and making sure that I feel great and ready to go back and not sort of rushing because I don’t even know what to expect as far as how I’m going to feel after having a baby.”
Carmella and her husband, SmackDown commentator Corey Graves, made the announcement of the pregnancy on May 1, with the two WWE stars later revealing at the end of the same month that they were expecting a baby boy.
Carmella has opened up about her experiences with miscarriages which you can read about here as well.
Carmella is not the only former WWE women’s champion on hiatus while pregnant, with five-time champion Alexa Bliss also expecting her first child with singer Ryan Cabrera.
Bliss and Cabrera would recently reveal the sex of their child to be a girl, announcing the news in unique fashion.
AEW’s Tay Melo is also pregnant with her first child with husband Sammy Guevara.
We continue to send our well-wishes to Carmella and Corey Graves, Alexa Bliss and Ryan Cabrera, and Tay Melo and Sammy Guevara throughout their respective pregnancy journeys.
