WWE Main Roster Stars Promise ‘NXT Black & Gold’ Throwback Performance

WWE Main Roster Stars Promise ‘NXT Black & Gold’ Throwback Performance WWE

Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa, known collectively as DIY, have a plan for Friday’s WWE SmackDown where they face Tyler Bate & Pete Dunne.

The February 9 match comes off the back of DIY’s victory in the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship Number 1 Contendership Fatal 4-Way that saw them victorious over The New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods), Imperium (Giovanni Vinci & Ludwig Kaiser) and The Creed Brothers (Brutus & Julius Creed).

Highlights from that match can be seen below this news story, along with comments from DIY as they prepare for Bate & Dunne.

In the WWE Digital Exclusive, DIY looked toward the upcoming SmackDown, saying:

Ciampa: “We know what tonight meant. And we know what waits for us. We know Pete Dunne very well. We know Tyler Bate very well.

“And we can’t wait to show Charlotte, to show SmackDown, what DIY is all about. And show the world.

Because this, if people talk about the good ol’ days of NXT black and gold, the good old days of NXT UK, they’re gonna get the best days when DIY steps in the ring with Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate this Friday.”

Gargano: “You could say we’re gonna ‘TakeOver’ SmackDown. I think we’re gonna ‘TakeOver’ SmackDown.”

Gargano has faced Bate previously on NXT Live in January 2019 and would team with Ciampa to face Moustache Mountain (Bate & Trent Seven) at WWE Worlds Collide in January 2020.

Both members of DIY have a long-running history with Pete Dunne in WWE, with Ciampa facing Dune for the WWE United Kingdom Championship in 2018.
