WWE Star Hasn’t Signed New Contract, ‘Happy’ With Current Role

WWE Star Hasn’t Signed New Contract, ‘Happy’ With Current Role WWE

With a current WWE deal that is due to expire in April 2024, the future of Drew McIntyre is still uncertain according to recent reports.

McIntyre’s current deal takes him through to WrestleMania 40, though he has featured in new advertising for an event in May 2024, as well as in August.

As recently reported, WWE sources are working with the idea that McIntyre will stay with the company, although a new deal is yet to be signed.

Dave Meltzer has now addressed the McIntyre situation on Wrestling Observer Radio, saying:

“The answer to that is no he has not signed a new deal, but he seems very happy so far with his new character and he’s really excited about it, and they’re working with the idea that he’s not going anywhere.

“But nothing’s signed. I think the talk of him taking a lot of time off and everything like that – probably not.

“He’ll probably sign a new deal. But it’s still just a ‘probable’ until it happens.”

In the wake of CM Punk’s injury, a feud between McIntyre and Punk was teased on the January 29 episode of WWE Raw.

Since that episode of WWE Raw, McIntyre has continued to mock Punk, including wearing a meme-themed T-shirt that saw Adam Pearce triple his fine (in storylineP).

McIntyre qualified for the men’s WWE Elimination Chamber match at the February 24 event in Perth, Australia.

Also joining him in the match will be Randy Orton, Bobby Lashley, LA Knight and two other WWE stars – Dominik Mysterio or Kevin Owens, and Logan Paul or The Miz.

The winner will face the World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 40 in April 2024.

As for the outcome of the Elimination Chamber match itself, McIntyre has said “there’s always a Plan B” should he not be successful.
