WWE Elimination Chamber Plans Potentially Changed Due To Injury

A potential spoiler which could result in a forced change to creative plans for the WWE Elimination Chamber event has been released.

After over a week of Elimination Chamber qualifying matches, the fields for both Chamber matches are beginning to fill up.

At present there are with only three spots remaining in the women’s match and two for the men heading into the next round of qualifiers.

The last of these spots are set to be filled on both this week’s SmackDown (February 16) and a final last chance battle royal for the women’s match on the February 19 edition of WWE Raw.

However, following an injury to one of the advertised competitors in one of those qualifying matches on this week’s NXT tapings that may now be set to change.

Please be warned that this article will contain full spoilers for the February 20 episode of NXT – which was taped following last night’s show (February 13) and could have permutations for this week’s SmackDown (February 16).

Due to next Saturday’s Elimination Chamber event (February 24) the February 13 taping of NXT saw a second taping filmed for next week.

This episode will air on February 20, and sees a bunch of follow up to angles from last night’s episode, including two title matches.

One of which featured main roster star Shotzi, who returned to the gold brand on NXT to confront Lyra Valkyria, with a title match between the two set for the following week.

Unfortunately however, that match seemed to not go to plan as Shotzi suffered what appears to be a knee injury in the opening minutes of the action, which resulted in her being replaced by Lash Legend.

Shotzi had been announced for an Elimination Chamber qualifying match on SmackDown this week against Tiffany Stratton, and it now seems like that won’t be happening due to Shotzi’s injury.

Stratton was very much the favorite to win that match regardless, but it now looks like her qualifier will have to be against a different opponent.
