WWE has filed to trademark an intriguing term coined by Triple H with the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO).
On September 18, WWE filed an application to trademark the term ‘GLOBAL LOCALIZATION’. The filing indicates that WWE intends to use this term in the catergory of ‘entertainment services’
The following description accompanied the filing:
Entertainment services, namely, a show about professional wrestling; entertainment services, namely, the production and exhibition of professional wrestling events rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service;
providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal;
providing a website in the field of sports entertainment; fan club services, namely, organizing and staging events with wrestling fan club members;
providing online newsletters in the field of sports entertainment; online journals, namely, blogs in the fields of sports entertainment; Entertainment services in the nature of development and creation of multimedia entertainment content
‘Global Localization’ was notably a term used by Triple H in 2018 to describe his vision for international WWE hubs that would act as feeder systems for the US NXT brand.
During the 2018 WWE Business Partner Summit, Triple H noted the following about Global Localization (via Fightful):
“I quickly realized NXT needed a feeder system of it’s own. We had to re-imagine again how and where we were recruiting. We had to find the right people not only inside of the United States but outside as well.”
NXT UK was the first of these international brands to be introduced. While this brand is now-defunct, WWE has previously discussed plans to relaunch it as NXT Europe, a hub for WWE in Europe.

WWE has hosted a number of major international shows this year, including Backlash in Puerto Rico, Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia, and Money in the Bank in the UK.
The company has now announced a return to Australia in February 2024 for next year’s Elimination Chamber premium live event.
WWE has also announced an appearance of the Undertaker to coincide with this event, which you can read more about right here.
