John Cena ‘Very Grateful’ For Recent Movie Opportunity WWE

John Cena has spoken about his cameo as one of the multitude of Ken’s in the Greta Gerwig hit movie Barbie.

The occasional WWE star has previously spoken about his cameo coming about through a chance meeting with Margot Robbie.

Although the appearance of Cena as a merman version of Ken is a short one, it is one of a number of memorable scenes in the movie which surpassed $1.4bn at the international box office.

No stranger to the big screen himself, Cena was recently at the premiere of The Iron Claw and spoke to Extra TV about his Barbie appearance, saying:

“That one man, that’s a four leaf clover for me. I was really lucky. I’m very grateful for all the opportunities that come our way. But I was especially lucky for that.

“Didn’t have to do much. Just put on a fish tail and a blonde wig and let all the talented folks do the rest. It’s great to see, not only the film be so successful amongst the consumers out there, but certainly with the critics as well.”

Cena wasn’t the only wrestler at the premiere of The Iron Claw, with MJF being spotted with Cena and Baron Corbin.

He would go on to publicly praise Zac Efron for his portrayal of Kevin Von Erich in the movie.

Aside from the Barbie role, Cena’s movie career has seen him appear in franchise flicks for the Transformers and Fast & Furious series.

He recently had a voice role in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, while the upcoming Coyote vs Acme may have seen Warner Bros backtrack on its plans to shelve the completed project.
