WWE Makes Spelling Error In New Trademark Filing

WWE Makes Spelling Error In New Trademark Filing WWE

If you’ve been watching NXT 2.0 you’ll have noticed that Raul Mendoza is no longer called Raul Mendoza.

He is now called Cruz Del Toro, which if you know your Spanish, you’ll know it means Cross of the Bull, which isn’t a thing, but it sounds cool in Spanish.

WWE has now filed to trademark the new ring name…or at least they tried to, because whoever made the application made quite an error.

As you’ll see below, WWE has filed to trademark Cruz Del Torio, which is not the Cross of the Bull. Cruz Del Torio means Cross of Thorium. Wondering what Thorium is, well, here’s what Wikipedia says:

Thorium is a weakly radioactive metallic chemical element with the symbol Th and atomic number 90. Thorium is silvery and tarnishes black when it is exposed to air, forming thorium dioxide; it is moderately soft and malleable and has a high melting point. Thorium is an electropositive actinide whose chemistry is dominated by the +4 oxidation state; it is quite reactive and can ignite in air when finely divided.

Now I can’t be sure, but I’m not sure that’s the character Cruz Del Toro is currently going for with the new name.

Presumably the person who made this error has been smacked on the back of the hand and WWE will be making another application with the correct spelling soon.

Alternatively, perhaps Del Toro is getting a new tag partner who is all about radioactive metallic chemical elements.
