WWE management has very high hopes for one particular NXT star who the company believes has ‘the it factor”.
In a new article for The Athletic focusing on WWE’s NIL (Next In Line) program, a WWE official contributed with comments about one particular graduate.
One of the success stories of the program so far has been NXT talent Tank Ledger, real name Joe Spivak.
Even before he became established on NXT TV, Ledger was being praised publicly by high-up people in WWE, and that trend hasn’t stopped recently.
Speaking about Ledger, one unnamed WWE official speaking to The Athletic said:
“From the very first conversation we had with Joe, you could feel it through the phone, the charisma, the ‘it’ factor. He has a bright future.”
Ledger himself commented, saying:
“I’ve always been someone who loves to talk and get a crowd going, be the center of attention. I wasn’t afraid to do that in promo classes. I’m here to wrestle, and I’m here to entertain, what this company does.”
Ledger, who signed an NIL deal with WWE in December 2021 and joined the company fully in the summer of 2022, is now a regular on NXT TV alongside his tag team partner Hank Walker.
The Athletic’s article confirmed that there’s a tryout coming up in late July for some of the company’s current NIL athletes, including the Cavinder twins who have already appeared on NXT TV.
