On tonight’s WWE NXT (September 26) a previously announced match ended up being cancelled during the course of the show.

With Gigi Dolin being shown in a backstage segment in the locker room stretching, her appearance was brief as then the lights went out and there was an audible scuffle.

However when the lights came back on, her announced opponent for tonight Blair Davenport could be seen standing over Dolin who was writhing in pain on the floor.

Later ahead of another match from the women’s division, Davenport appeared suddenly at ringside and snatched Vic Joseph’s headset to gloat about the attack after it was confirmed the match had been removed from tonight’s show.

The real reason for that match being called off is likely due to the need to add a previously unplanned #1 contenders match to decide Dominik Mysterio’s challenger at No Mercy after Mustafa Ali was released by WWE.

A fatal four way to determine who would face Dominik Mysterio at NXT No Mercy featuring Tyler Bate vs. Axiom vs. Trick Williams vs. Dragon Lee occurred on tonight’s show.

In the end, Williams picked up the victory and the title shot against Dominik Mysterio at NXT No Mercy on Saturday, September 30.
