SmackDown Live
Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Naomi, Lana & Asuka vs. Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville & Carmella
Despite the fact that it has become somewhat of a joke to just put all the SmackDown Live women in the ring at the same time – thanks Luke – it does not necessarily make the matches bad. This was evidenced here with a great main event for the blue brand. The heels did well to control the majority before some hot tags to Charlotte Flair and Asuka saw the bout off.
When everyone is together, it really highlights how Asuka should have never lost at WrestleMania. She’s just head and shoulders above the rest. It’s undeniable that if anyone could beat her then Charlotte was the one but save it for the end of her title reign.
Carmella’s current reign just feels like it was the cause of Asuka’s derailment and I just want the ‘Empress’ to have a long and dominant run with the championship now so I can try to forget about her appalling main roster booking.
205 Live
Lucha House Party (Kalisto, Lince Dorado & Gran Metalik) vs. Drew Gulak, The Brian Kendrick & Jack Gallagher
This match has been building for weeks now and the payoff we finally got was great. The styles clashed perfectly with the luchadors really struggling to keep their high-energy pace going as they were continuously grounded by the technicians opposite.
A great story within the match – and one that I will look forward to aiding the continuation of the feud – was Drew Gulak getting called out on trying to cheat to win only to have Lince Dorado actually win using the same heel tactics without getting caught. Brilliant stuff from the cruiserweights as always. Tandem suicide dives for all.
