WWE Name Says Cody Rhodes & Brandi Rhodes Helped During First Week In The Company WWE

A WWE name says Cody Rhodes and Brandi Rhodes helped during her first week in the company.

Cathy Kelley started working with WWE back in 2016 as a backstage interviewer after a stint with AfterBuzz TV.

Initially working as a correspondent for WWE NXT, Kelley was primarily used for interviews and hosting.

The transition to WWE can always be a difficult one, but Kelley has revealed she had some key people helping her early on.

Speaking with Ryan Satin on Out of Character, Cathy Kelley recalled her start in the company and explained how the Rhodes family helped her. She said:

“That first week, I knew no one so I went in and I was told, ‘Don’t go in as a fan’ by Michael Cole. I was already nervous, I wanted to shake everyone’s hand, I wanted to be respectful and I was second guessing everything. I was just so in my head.”

“I remember Cody Rhodes and Brandi at the time, they kind of helped me in that capacity because one of my first assignments was with them.”

“They were like, ‘Just go in the locker room, shake everyone’s hand, no one knows who you are, it’s all good.’”

“That really stuck with me, especially in retrospect, knowing what they were going through personally that weekend, that is when they decided to leave.”

Cody Rhodes left WWE in May 2016, but he eventually returned to the company at WrestleMania 38 in 2022. Meanwhile, Cathy Kelley would also leave WWE in February 2020, but returned in October 2022.
