Baron Corbin kicked off tonight’s WWE NXT, calling out the entitled locker room and putting the responsibility on the NXT Champion.
With Baron Corbin kicking off tonight’s NXT, he railed about how he has observed that when stars come up to the main roster from NXT, they are entitled.
But back on NXT, they’re also preoccupied with themselves and their legacy despite being soft, a self interest that Corbin blames on current Champion, Carmelo Hayes.
Corbin however was not met by Hayes, rather Ilja Dragunov made his return for the first time since NXT Battleground to bite back at Baron.
Noting that he wasn’t soft, he was happy to have a battle against Baron Corbin on tonight’s NXT!
Baron Corbin seemed primed to take on Ilja Dragunov while the latter still has bruises from his NXT Battleground warfare against Dijak on tonight’s show but it would not come to be.
After the pair agreed to face off, Corbin was still in the ring when he was rushed from behind by Trick Williams.
With Corbin having attacked Carmelo Hayes last week on NXT, clearly Trick Williams was available to deliver a receipt from the champ.
Then after the break, it was revealed that backstage Ilja Dragunov was attacked backstage by Bron Breakker who taunted that Dragunov shouldn’t think he’s the baddest one backstage.
It was later confirmed that Corbin’s opponent on tonight’s NXT would be Williams rather than Dragunov.
During the hard hitting match, Williams and Corbin went to war as Corbin was interesting dressed in alternate attire, wearing a tank top and shorts to the ring.
In the end after an impressive outing by both, it was Baron Corbin who bested Trick Williams after hitting the End of Days and capturing the pinfall victory.
After the match, Baron Corbin told the camera that he would be headed to SmackDown next to win his Money in the Bank qualifying match so Ilja Dragunov needed to wait until next Tuesday.
