NXT Star Receiving High Praise In WWE: ‘WrestleMania Main Event Potential’

An NXT star is reportedly receiving some very high praise within WWE, with some believing he has “WrestleMania main event potential”.

With the ongoing movement to have more synergy between NXT and the main roster brands, Carmelo Hayes had another match on SmackDown last week against Austin Theory.

Hayes lost the match and was then attacked by Theory and Grayson Waller, before Hayes’ NXT tag team partner Trick Williams came out to make the save and got a great reaction from the crowd.

According to a new report from Haus of Wrestling, the SmackDown creative team was “blown away” by the reaction that Williams got from fans when he came out.

Some “influential people” in WWE are said the believe that Williams has future “WrestleMania main eventer potential”.

An unnamed “top WWE star” that spoke to Haus of Wrestling said that they see “nothing but positives” for Trick Williams and praised his “great attitude and skillset that he’s cultivating”.

Williams is a former NXT North American Champion but only held the title for three days after winning it from Dominik Mysterio who then won it straight back.

This Sunday at NXT Vengeance Day, Williams is double-booked, as he and Hayes will be facing Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tournament final, and then later in the night, Williams will challenge Ilja Dragunov for the NXT Championship.
