WWE Star Almost Pulled From Major Match

WWE Star Almost Pulled From Major Match WWE

Details have emerged on a WWE star almost missing their match at Elimination Chamber 2024 due to a ‘touch and go’ situation.

Raquel Rodriguez made her return to the ring in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match on the February 19 edition of Raw, which she won.

She went on to compete in the six-woman Elimination Chamber match in Perth, Australia and was ultimately eliminated by Bianca Belair.

Following the match, Raquel took to social media to reveal that her Mast Cell Activation Syndrome flared up while she was travelling to Australia.

Per Dave Meltzer, it was touch and go whether she’d even be competing at Elimination Chamber for a while, with Rodriguez missing match rehearsals ahead of the February 24 show.

Meltzer noted the following in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter:

“At one point Jade Cargill was scheduled for the match, but she was replaced by Rodriguez.

“Rodriguez then on the trip over had a flare up of her Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, the malady that had kept her out of action for two-and-a-half months and there was a question if they had brought her back too soon.

“It was serious enough that she was unable to participate in the practice match the women did while in Australia and it was touch-and-go whether she would be in the match.”

Rodriguez most recently wrestled on the February 26 edition of WWE Raw, defeating Chelsea Green in just over one minute.
