Backstage Details On WWE Scrapping Major Randy Orton Change WWE

An update has emerged on WWE scrapping a major change to Randy Orton’s presentation, revealing how far WWE went with the idea before abandoning it.

Randy Orton made his WWE return in the main event of Survivor Series WarGames, teaming with Seth Rollins, Jey Uso, Sami Zayn and Cody Rhodes to defeat the Judgment Day and Drew McIntyre after 18 months out of action.

Orton has appeared on WWE TV regularly since then, notably joining the SmackDown roster.

According to previous reports, WWE had plans to introduce a completely new theme song for Orton to replace his extremely popular ‘Voices’ entrance theme.

Per Corey Brennan of Fightful Select now reports that WWE did one live play-through of Orton’s new theme song in the arena and decided to scrap it.

Orton is currently targeting Roman Reigns and the Bloodline, with Orton looking to dethrone Reigns and win the Undisputed Universal Championship.

The Viper will compete against AJ Styles and LA Knight in a three-way bout at SmackDown New Year’s Revolution to determine Reigns’ next title challenger.

The winner of the bout on the January 5 show will challenge for Roman Reigns’ gold at the January 27 Royal Rumble premium live event.

More details have also emerged on another WWE change after a popular name stated that it wasn’t their call, which you can read more about right here.
