A released WWE star’s new ring name has now been confirmed, ahead of his in-ring return after eight months out of action.
Babatunde Aiyegbusi, who wrestled in WWE as Dabba Kato and Commander Azeez, was one of the stars let go by WWE during the September 2023 round of talent cuts.
The heavyweight star made a surprise appearance for Prime Time Wrestling in Poland on Sunday (February 4).
Prime Time Wrestling has now announced a return match for the former WWE star, who will be challenging for Dawid “Puncher” Seńko’s PTW World Championship at the promotion’s May 11 show.
PTW took to Instagram to reveal that the former Dabba Kato will now be wrestling as “Babathunder”.
Babathunder signed with WWE in April 2016 and worked on the NXT brand until 2020, when he made his Raw debut as part of the Raw Underground brand.
He went on to join forces with Apollo Crews at WrestleMania 37 in 2021 as Commander Azeez, before he and Crews were moved back to NXT in 2022.
His most recent match saw him lose to Tyler Bate on the September 9, 2023 edition of NXT.
