The first promotional material for WWE’s biggest show of 2019, WrestleMania 35, has been officially released.
It is always interesting to see who WWE uses on its marketing as it gives a mild indication of the intended promotional direction. At least in theory.
This year’s poster, released to promote the WrestleMania travel packages – which go on sale next Monday – features some very curious names indeed:
Half of the names make sense:
- Braun Strowman is expected to be the face of Raw going forward due to Roman Reigns’ absence.
- AJ Styles has been the undisputed top dog on SmackDown for the past year.
- Ronda Rousey is fast becoming the biggest star in the entire promotion.
The other three on there are more surprising:
- Shinsuke Nakamura has been kept in a high midcard role, at best, with his prospects of a run as top guy on either brand remote.
- Daniel Bryan has been badly handled since his emotional return from injury and could be in hot water with the company for his refusal to go to Saudi Arabia.
- Naomi has been largely neglected since her WrestleMania battle royal win earlier this year.
It is also interesting to note that none of Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Triple H, John Cena, Drew McIntyre, Samoa Joe, Charlotte Flair or Becky Lynch appear on the poster.
WrestleMania travel packages are available November 5 from this link, ranging from $1175 to $6940
Does that mean anything or did WWE just pluck some photos and throw them on there? Let us know in the comments.
