WWE Event Returning For SummerSlam 2023 Week WWE

An update has emerged on WWE recruitment and the the next major WWE tryout ahead of SummerSlam weekend in Detroit, Michigan.

Ahead of SummerSlam 2022, WWE held a big tryout in Nashville, which resulted in a number of athletes receiving contract offers.

It has now been reported that there will be a talent tryout ahead of this year’s event.

Per PWInsider, the tryout will take place in Detroit over SummerSlam weekend, with this year’s SummerSlam event to take place on Saturday, August 5.

Matt Bloom will reportedly oversee the tryouts, with additional NXT coaches and staff joining him.

Bloom currently serves as the head trainer at the WWE Performance Center.

It is interesting that WWE is bringing this tryout back, considering the SummerSlam 2022 week tryouts were described as a ‘disaster’ and caused the company to change its system.

Former AEW star Brian Pillman Jr was recently spotted at the WWE facility earlier this week, following Pillman’s AEW exit.

This led to speculation that Pillman will be making an immediate jump from AEW to WWE.

This report comes ahead of the next NXT special, with NXT The Great American Bash 2023 set to take place on July 30.
