An update has emerged on SmackDown star Shotzi, who recently suffered an injury during a WWE NXT TV taping.
UPDATE: Shotzi has posted a statement confirming that she suffered a torn ACL – click here for the latest.
Shotzi challenged for Lyra Valkyria’s NXT Women’s Championship during last week’s February 13 taping for this Tuesday’s February 20 episode.
This match was stopped due to Shotzi suffering a legitimate knee injury.
Per PWInsider, the word backstage at Monday’s February 19 Raw taping was that Shotzi was in Birmingham, Alabama.
As this is the location of the medical facility which many WWE stars have used, it is said to be “likely” that Shotzi is in Birmingham ahead of a surgery.
Several WWE stars were praised for adapting to the ‘difficult situation’ during the NXT taping, which you can read more about right here.
The match is still being advertised for NXT tonight, so we’ll still be seeing the match up until the injury happened, and then what was done to adjust on the fly last week.
Shotzi recently took to social media to confirm that she’s injured, and to comment on missing out on her opportunity to qualify for Elimination Chamber.
Check out the announced card for WWE Elimination Chamber 2024 right here.
We wish Shotzi a safe and healthy recovery.
I don’t have much to say right now other than I am devastated. It’s heartbreaking to be missing my Elimination Chamber opportunity tonight. But I just wanted to wish all the women competing good luck. I’ll open up more about how I’m feeling and my injury later. @WWE
