WWE SmackDown Live Results (May 14, 2019)

WWE returns for its second consecutive show at the O2 Arena in London, England for this taped episode of SmackDown Live. If you have no interest in watching the show then the spoilers can be found here.

No spoilers here though, just notes from the official preview which promises a four-way between Andrade, Randy Orton, Ali and Finn Balor, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville taking on Asuka and Kairi Sane (who have a new name) and the promise of Kofi Kingston appearing on the Kevin Owens Show.

Owens teases getting into the ring but retreats, Kofi has had enough and comes out to the ramp to meet Owens, the pair brawl before Kevin Owens’ best friend and Raw star Sami Zayn comes out attack Kingston. As Owens was about to deliver a Powerbomb onto the apron to Kofi, Xavier Woods tries to make the save, but Sami and Kevin quickly dispatch of Xavier, and continue their assault on the WWE Champion. Kofi is not having it, and fends both off, hitting Zayn with a Trouble in Paradise.

Having New Day vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will serve as a great way to not only produce great matches between four of Smackdown’s best in-ring stars, but will allow the Kevin Owens vs. Kofi Kingston feud the chance to continue past Money In The Bank without feeling drawn out. Also, with Zayn in the Money In The Bank ladder match, having Zayn with the briefcase and his best friend in and around the championship picture will make for an interesting story.

Overall, this was a great episode of Smackdown, packed with detailed story development and fantastic matches.
